Welcome to BristolCon.org
BristolCon is a one-day science fiction and fantasy convention organized by the BristolCon Committee. The primary aim of the event is to support the Science Fiction and Fantasy community within the South West of the United Kingdom, and to promote the works of Science Fiction and Fantasy authors, artists, businesses, and performers within the United Kingdom and further afield. The convention was created in 2009 by members of the Bristol Fantasy & SF Society, and has since become renowned as a fun, friendly, and informative addition to the UK’s convention calendar.
Each year we feature panel discussions and lectures, an art show, and small group sessions including kaffeeklatsch and workshops. Books, comics and merchandise are available in the dealers’ room and authors will be available for book signings. Since 2021 BristolCon has become a hybrid event offering both online and in-person attendance.
Funds from this event are made available to the BristolCon Foundation to be awarded as grants to those within the community who apply for financial assistance or support. Please contact chair(at)bristolcon(dot)org for further details.
BristolCon is back for 2022! The convention will this year take place on Saturday 29th October at our regular venue, the DoubleTree by Hilton Bristol City Centre hotel. More details, including how to find the hotel via satnav and What3Words, are available on the Hotel page.
We are thrilled to announce that our Guests of Honour are Liz Williams and Stark Holborn. More details on them and their works are available on the Guest of Honour pages. After last year's success of a smaller convention and streaming our main programme room, this year we are returning to a full programme with hybrid elements. We will once more offer live streaming of our main programme room which you can watch live if you can't make it to the convention itself. This will be run via our YouTube channel, where you can also find recordings from previous events. Our Discord server will also be available in the run up to the convention and over the convention weekend.
Regular attendees might have noticed that we've done a major revamp of the website. In particular we've simplified the membership registration process, where you can also volunteer to join our crew and help out at the convention (hint hint! :) ). We are constantly on the look-out for new ideas and new people to ensure that we can continue to evolve and improve the event. If you would like to be more involved or are happy to help out on the day then please tick the box on the membership form and we'll contact you.
We look forward to seeing you in October.
The BristolCon committee.
