Rail and Road Works for BristolCon

October 21st, 2019 · No Comments

BristolCon would not have the same air of adventure if there were not rail engineering works and road works around Bristol! Yes, we have been plagued blessed yet again with these phenomena.

Basically if you are travelling by rail from the north to Bristol Temple Meads railway station, you will be provided with a replacement bus service. More details from the official publications:

Saturday and Sunday – All weekend, buses will replace trains between Newport/Gloucester and Bristol Temple Meads. Some trains which run beyond these stations will be amended. Some will not run. Trains between London Paddington and Bristol Temple Meads will run at a reduced hourly service.

Saturday and Sunday – All weekend, buses will replace trains between Bristol Temple Meads and Avonmouth/Severn Beach.

The replacement bus timetable may be found here.

And of course the Temple Gate road construction works that started in June 2017 are still ongoing, though we were promised they were due to be finished this Autumn. It’s not as bad as it has been, but they can still be a nuisance. More details here.

A quick reminder while I’m lurking here… online registrations will close at 11:59pm on Wednesday.
