BristolCon Fringe presents Tim Kindberg and Helen Gould

Tim Kindberg and Helen Gould will give readings from their work on Monday, June 17th, at The Gryphon, 41, Colton Street, bristol, Bs1 5AP 7-30pm until about 9pm. Doors open at 7pm.

The event is free to attend and there will be a Q&A after the readings where the audience will have an opportunity to ask questions to the authors.

Bristol-based Tim Kindberg ( writes novels and the occasional short story and poem. His YA fantasy Shadows of Marrakech tells of a Berber girl’s struggle against slavery and ignorance, in which she faces an uncanny parallel world with a mind of its own. In middle-grade Starboy, a lonely boy is abducted into outer space, and can’t return unless he and the girl he falls for can rescue their fellow dispossessed from the evil Prince of Emptiness. Most recently, in gothic science fiction novel Take You With Me, set between the West Country and West Africa, a traumatised detective must save the woman he loves from a mind-consuming vampire, without exposing her to his own monster inside. Tim is also author of Main Man, in The Bowie Companion. He is a former director and occasional editor of Magma poetry magazine.

By day he is a digital technologist, creating software and doing R&D in the creative sector. In his ‘For Sceptics’ talks and blog articles he takes a critical look at major technologies such as AI, Blockchain and 5G, and invites a creative response to them.

Helen Claire Gould discovered science fiction at nine and has been writing it since her teens. She met her husband at Peterborough SF Club and set up the Peterborough SF Writers’ Group. After graduating from Anglia Ruskin University in Geology and Planetary science in 2000, she taught Geology and Creative Writing evening classes.
