About Susie Williamson

Susie has a soft spot for complex women protagonists, smashing stereotypes, and inventive worlds filled with colour. Favourite authors include Ursula Le Guin, Nnedi Okorafor, Octavia Butler and Patricia McKillip. Her fantasy series, 'Blood Gift Chronicles' encompasses themes of wildlife and the environment, social justice and marginalisation, magic, animism and dragons. The series begins with 'Return of the Mantra' and 'The Warder'. Both titles won 2021 Firebird Book Awards. Susie lives in Exeter, a bike ride away from the sea, and also enjoys painting canvases to cover the white-washed walls of home. She is currently working on the third novel in her series.
