19:00 CAPTAIN, MY CAPTAIN

Every great Space Opera needs a great captain. Our panel discusses what makes a great captain and what that character can do to a plot. Would Captain Kirk of the Millennium Falcon work or could Malcolm Reynolds handle the discipline of a USS Excelsior? Where do these great characters come from… do we have an obsession with the Blackbeard or Nelson archetypes or are we just in love with a strong reliable leader, with a dash or rebellion?
