BristolCon 2016 Progress Report

January 29th, 2016 · 2 Comments

December and January are always the quietest months of the year for the BristolCon team, as the furore of the last con dies down and we take a few deep breaths before ramping up to the next one. But we never stop completely (no rest for the wicked), and we’ve had several meetings to talk about the 2016 convention, whilst individual department heads have been beavering away behind the scenes making their corner of BristolCon 2016 even more awesome than in previous years.

The dealer’s room is filling up, so if you want to be considered for a space, please contact dealers[at]bristolcon[dot]org as soon as possible. We also want to hear from any visual artists who would like to display their work in the art show; contact, you guessed it, artshow[at]bristolcon[dot]org.

We’ve begun the process of collecting and consolidating ideas for panel discussions, presentations and workshops. If you have any ideas you’d like to share, tweet us @bristolcon or email programme[at]bristolcon[dot]org. That’s also the email for enquiries about participation, but we won’t be looking at assigning people to panels for some time yet. We’d also love to hear our members’ suggestions for anything else we can do to enhance your BristolCon experience, such as…

…mugs? Anybody fancy a mug? We’ve produced the odd artefact over the years as gifts for Guests of Honour or competition prizes, but merchandise has never been made available to buy. We are considering it this year, so, what do you think? Would you like a little bit of BristolCon to take away?

Like the mug idea. How about asking the GoH artist to provide a small, original piece to adorn said mug? It could become an annual must-have item…

Why not good quality thermal travel mugs.
