Flash Fiction at the BristolCon Fringe – 22/6/2016 – 7pm

June 8th, 2015 · No Comments

Are you in the Bristol area? Fancy taking part in a flash fiction workshop with our very own flashmiester Kevlin Henney? And / Or taking part in a flash reading open mic session?

As part of the celebrations for National Flash Fiction Day, Kevlin Henney (North By Southwest)  will be taking charge of the Fringe on Monday June 22nd at the Shakespeare Taven on Prince Street. Starting at SEVEN he will be running a FREE hour-long workshop teaching you how to write and polish flash fiction. This will be followed by an hour or so of open mic flash fiction readings for anyone who wants to join in (and pudding – there’s always time for pudding).

You don’t have to attend the workshop to read your flash fiction, and if you do attend the workshop but don’t want to read your story out, that’s fine too – we’re very free and easy like that.

So if you’ve always wanted to master the art of writing short-shorts, or if you just want to hear some local writers doing short readings, or even have a go yourself, this is a really good opportunity in a friendly environment – all welcome!

No need to book, just turn up at seven for the flash workshop or eight for the Open Mic, and we’ll fit in as many readings as we can.

If you haven’t been to a Fringe event and you’re wondering what you might be letting yourself in for, it’s all very friendly and informal, and a great way to get through those first-reading nerves! We welcome published authors and people who are yet to be published on an equal basis.

You can sign up on the BristolCon Fringe Facebook page or just come along – it would be really nice to see lots of you there!
