Lawgiver Mk II – Dredd Convention Comes To Bristol – May 25th 2015

April 13th, 2015 · No Comments

Listen up, Citizens!

All you perps better get along to the Hilton Doubletree (The BristolCon Hotel) on Monday May 25th 2015 (It’s a Bank Holiday – skipping work is an illegal activity, creep!) for Lawgiver II – The return of the best Dredd Convention in Brit-Cit. I understand the Judges will be out in force patrolling this event, and non-attendance will be punished by a spell in the Iso-cubes, so you’d better get signed up, citizen!

In the words of Judge Cherrybomb :

The year is 2079 and Dredd hits the streets of Mega-City One, where the craziest citizens – and therefore the weirdest of crimes imaginable – happen. This city is the toughest on Earth and to combat its harsh streets, you need the toughest of lawmen and the toughest going is Judge Joe Dredd!

Over the decades we have seen Dredd fighting crime in comics, novels, audio cds, fan films and two feature films. The latter 2012 film – DREDD, starring Karl Urban and Lena Headley – brought a new legion of fans to Mega-City One, as the portrayal of Judge Dredd by Karl Urban was universally enjoyed by fans and critics alike.

Now we have Lawgiver, the world’s only convention dedicated to Dredd fans! Lawgiver isn’t just dedicated to UK fans either; during the first Lawgiver, people travelled from mainland Europe to attend! This convention has been created by the fans, for the fans and with many creators in attendance there will be something for everyone. Creator panels (get your questions ready!), original art for sale, sketches to be drawn, books to be bought and signed and if you are lucky a pint or two at the bar with legends from the creative world of JUDGE DREDD! Further Justice Department Sanctioned activities will be announced but you’ll have to come along to see what!

Judges will be patrolling this event, including the classic comic style from Planet Replicas, the lauded Dredd 2012 film style and variations on both, so make sure you do one thing while you are enjoying yourself: OBEY THE LAW!

Tickets to this excellent event cost £25 and are available from Eventbrite – it’s more on the door!
