Airship Shape & Bristol Fashion, the steampunk anthology edited by BristolCon’s own Joanne Hall and Roz Clarke, and supported by the BristolCon Foundation, hit the market at the end of February. The book is now available to buy as an e-book direct from Wizard’s Tower Press. Print copies can be obtained from Tangent books, Amazon and the Book Depository.

Andy Fairchild at CultDen reviewed it, saying:

“If you like Steampunk, you’ll love this. If you’ve never read Steampunk, you should give the book a go anyway, I doubt you’ll be disappointed.”

Locals can also buy copies direct from us. We’ll be selling them at the Fringe reading in March and at the two Airship Launch events.

The formal launch takes place at Forbidden Planet tomorrow (March 8th) from 1-2 pm and will feature signings and readings from contributors. Then there’s a party – the Airship Ball at the Folk House Cafe on March 29th at 7:30 pm. The Ball will feature dramatic readings, a presentation from John Hawkes-Reed on hacking the Jacquard-7, a Victorian picnic with wonderful fresh treats, a cosplay contest and music from Cauda Pavonis. Tickets are available from Eventbrite, or (avoiding their fees) direct from Jo and Roz. Picnic tickets must be bought in advance, but a cheaper ‘latecomer’ ticket will be sold on the door, subject to availability. Contact them (@hierath77 and @zora_db) or comment here or on the Facebook event for more details.

There’s a discount on tickets for the Ball with a purchase of a print copy of the anthology.
