Would You Like To Be A Panelist At BristolCon?

May 17th, 2015 · 1 Comment

It’s that time of year when we start assigning people to panels at Bristolcon. We currently have a longlist of around 25 panels, which we will narrow down to the most popular 12-14 which we will run on the day. If you’d like to get involved in the programming, here’s the low-down.

All our panelists are taken from our membership – either paid-up members or previous guests of honour. You won’t be considered for panels if you’re not a paid-up member unless your name starts with Neil and ends with Gaiman, and possibly not even then… And as we’re starting to assign panels within the next few weeks, if you haven’t bought a membership already and want to be considered for a panel you need to do so forthwith, if not sooner.

Unfortunately, it’s possible that not every who volunteers to appear on a panel will get a spot. While we try to assign the panel spots as widely and fairly as possible, we always have more panelists than there are places available, and some people will inevitably be disappointed. Please don’t let that discourage you from volunteering – there are plenty of other things going on, not just panels, and you might be able to get involved with them instead.

We’re keen to see a broad range of people on panels – writers, of course, but also artists, editors, publishers, podcasters, critics, bloggers, short film makers, fans… If you have an opinion, or seven, we’d like to hear from you!

If you want to be considered for panels please let us know and we’ll be in touch!
