Murder Most Magical

April 28th, 2014 · 1 Comment

On Friday, May 16th Waterstones, Bristol will be hosting “Murder Most Magical”, a presentation of fantasy-themed crime novels featuring three fabulous writers.

Ben Aaronovitch is the author of the best-selling Rivers of London series of novels featuring PC Peter Grant.

Paul Cornell is the Hugo Award-winning writer of Doctor Who episodes, various comics (currently Wolverine) and most significantly for this event, the novel, London Falling. Paul’s publishers have promised us that they will try to get advance copies of the follow-up novel, The Severed Streets, for the event, even though it is not due out for another week.

Jasper Fforde, the author of the hugely successful Thursday Next series of comic detective novels and many other books.

All three will be in conversation with Cheryl Morgan on the subject of the intersection between crime and fantasy fiction. Books will be signed later.

Doors will open at 7:00pm. The event is ticketed, costing £3, and currently you can only get tickets at the store. We suggest that you book up early, because this will probably sell out.

Thanks are due to CrimeFest, which is taking place in the city over that weekend. They kindly allowed us to borrow three of their guests for the evening.
