About Helen Claire Gould

Helen Claire Gould has been writing since her teens, having read her first two Science Fiction novels at the age of nine. She met her husband at Peterborough SF Club, and went on to start the Peterborough SF Writers’ Group after re-starting writing for therapeutic reasons following a series of miscarriages. Helen graduated in Geology and Planetary science in 2000, and used the skills gained as a professional trainer in a previous incarnation to help other writers learn to write and self-publish. She has also become resident spoken word artist at a number of local open mic nights, and, thanks to her experience in presenting Fiction Fix, is looking forwards to presenting the open mic night at Bristolcon 2026. She also plans to record some of her books as audiobooks. Her most recent foray into spoken word was her appearance at the Peterborough Celebrates Festival in May 2026. She performed extracts from her books interspersed with her poetry in an hour-long presentation entitled The Poetry Sandwich Multi-Decker. She plans to perform this show at other locations over the next couple of years.
