About Phil Gilvin

Phil Gilvin lives with his wife in Swindon, nestling in the rolling downland of Wiltshire amid neolithic barrows, ancient droveways and stone circles (and the railway and the M4). When his children grew too old to have stories read to them he turned to writing, going to lots of workshops and winning a number of short story prizes. His debut novel "Truth Sister" was published by Impress Books in 2018 - it's YA/dystopian/science fiction with big influences from John Wyndham, H G Wells and John Christopher. The sequel is on its way! Phil’s other career is as a radiation protection scientist (now part-time). He enjoys walking in aforesaid downland, and on Fridays he can often be found at Swindon Folk Club.
